With the hospitality sector getting back on its feet this summer, a new reality awaits. In the UK and around the world, businesses will still be expected to adjust to hygiene and distancing measures.

These procedures are crucial to getting bars, restaurants and event companies back in the game. Here at Portabar, we’ve been working on a series of features that are designed to smooth the transition. Our portable bars are ideally suited to life outdoors and in different locations. But these special new assets go that extra mile in helping your business to adapt, and keeping your staff and customers safe.

Protective screens

Ensure staff-customer interactions stay at a minimum with these protective screens that clamp easily onto Portabar’s bartops. You can order them as a single item or in multiples, to extend side-by-side along the full length of your bar. You can also choose to have slots available (as above) for food/drink service and payment transactions. The clear screens make for easy interactions between people whilst keeping both customers and staff safe.

Handwashing stations

Portabar has always offered dedicated handwash sinks for its bars and now we've introduced a hand towel dispenser which hooks on and off just like our speedrails.

This means that you and your staff always have access to a handwashing station in the field, no matter where you happen to be based with your pop up bar.

Portabar has two sizes of anti-contamination lids for our ice chests: one for the entire well and one for single compartments. The anti-contamination lids also serve to shield the ice from direct sunlight in hot conditions, and prevent anything else getting into the compartments. The lids simply slide back for access and are super-simple to operate, and light to lift.

Food-grade stainless steel

Portabar’s pop-up mobile bar system is made from food-grade stainless steel (304), so it’s ideal for deep cleaning. It's easy, modular design allows you and your team to take apart each of the components and disinfect them thoroughly, as often as you want, making your portable bar very clean!

Outdoor optimised

Last but not least, Portabar is primed to work as an outdoors structure. As events businesses head outdoors this summer, our robust and versatile mobile bars can pave the way and make your life easier. The interchangeable design adapts seamlessly to a range of different shapes and sizes, depending on what you need. You can serve cocktails, beer, wine or food platters, all using our state-of-the-art kit for your pop up bar.

This is a pop-up bar system that has all the advantages and strength of a permanent bar; you can assemble it in minutes and pack away again into flightcases at the end of service. You can also customise your bar (as seen with the beautiful Sandy’s On The Move bar, above) using our magnetic branding panels.

Once the COVID-19 restrictions are over, you can use Portabar time and again for events through every season and location: both indoors and alfresco. It’s a lifetime investment and, in a world of uncertainties, it’s as flexible as you can hope to be. If you want to chat through an idea for a portable bar system for your venue, contact us here and we’d be delighted to help.
